Orphan PIT Tag Detection

The Bottlenecks Program commenced in 2020 with the rapid expansion of antenna infrastructure on Vancouver Island. Currently, the Program operates 26 antenna arrays spanning 13 rivers. Over the last five years of operation, thousands of individual PIT-tagged fish have been detected on our arrays. While many detections are from Bottlenecks Program fish, a few thousand are from other programs and researchers.

This Dashboard allows partner organizations and researchers to search for their PIT-Tags and see if they have been detected. Tag detections are collected from the Programs in-river PIT arrays and during other active tag recovery surveys (i.e., predator mobile scanning at Heron Rookeries and/or Pinniped Haul-outs) and through our Enhanced Fisheries Monitoring Tables. This dashboard not only allows partner organizations and researchers the opportunity to search for their tags, but they can also share their orphan tag detections for inclusion in the dashboard.
